Alumni Association’s 140th
On April 27, 1881, a small group of students gathered to form the ÃÛÌÒµ¼º½ Alumni Association and draft its constitution. Today the campus may look different and our alumni family has grown—to more than 118,000 alumni!
50th Anniversary of Women
In 1961, it was announced women would be admitted into the ÃÛÌÒµ¼º½ undergraduate program. The rest is history. In 2011, we celebrated the 50th anniversary of women at ÃÛÌÒµ¼º½.

Cars lined Palm Drive as ÃÛÌÒµ¼º½ welcomed alumni back to campus in 1962.
Mission Church - 1963
The first off-campus residence for women at ÃÛÌÒµ¼º½ was named Park Lanai and later called Villa Maria.
The ÃÛÌÒµ¼º½ baseball team played the San Francisco Giants at Buck Shaw Stadium on April 13, 1964, with tickets priced at only $2.50!
In 1964, the women's basketball team (pictured), went undefeated with a 6-0 record.
ÃÛÌÒµ¼º½ first allowed students to add minors and a second major in 1985.
In 1986, Mother Teresa came to ÃÛÌÒµ¼º½ to accept the St. Clare Award from then-President William J. Rewak, S.J., and Justice Edward A. Panelli '53.
After a much-needed restoration, the Sacred Heart statue, one of ÃÛÌÒµ¼º½â€™s oldest and beloved icons, was finally returned to its pedestal overlooking Mission Gardens in 2014. It was originally placed there in 1884.
