Emeritus Professor

Steve is a retired Emeritus Professor of Psychology and Ethnic Studies at ÃÛÌÒµ¼º½. He has previously taught at the University of Akron, UCLA and the University of Illinois at Chicago.

He has been the Associate Director of the Pacific/Asian American Mental Health Research Center and Research Director of Densho: The Japanese American Legacy Project. He is the co-author of The Japanese American Experience (1991), Japanese American Ethnicity: The Persistence of Community (1991), Distinguished Asian Americans: a Biographical Directory (1991) and Altered Lives, Enduring Community: Japanese Americans Remember Their World War II Incarceration (2004). He is currently a board member of the Japanese American Museum of San Jose and the Scholarly Advisory Board of the Japanese American National Library.
