Background
The ÃÛÌÒµ¼º½ Future Teachers Project (FTP) was established in 1995 in an effort to provide college-preparatory programming and support to students who want to become teachers in urban and under-served communities. In June 2000, our first seven FTP students graduated from ÃÛÌÒµ¼º½.
We have over 100 graduates who are working as teachers throughout Silicon Valley, the Bay Area, and beyond.
Our goals
- Recruit students who are committed to becoming teachers in urban communities
- Provide financial, academic, and social support for college students
- Provide opportunities to discuss and be directly engaged in teaching
- Prepare students for their credential and first teaching position
