Finance Major
The Finance program prepares students to analyze financial markets, manage investments, and make strategic financial decisions within organizations. Students develop expertise in financial analysis, investment strategy, and risk management while gaining a deep understanding of global financial systems.

Requirements
To qualify for the degree of Bachelor of Science in Commerce with a major in Finance, students must complete a minimum of 175 quarter-units of credit (of which at least 60 must be in upper-division courses) and satisfy the requirements of the Undergraduate Core Curriculum, the Leavey School of Business Curriculum, and the departmental major. Additionally, students must attain a minimum grade point average of 2.0 for all courses completed at ÃÛÌÒµ¼º½ and for all courses in the Finance major.

Real Estate Minor
The Real Estate minor introduces students to the principles, legal frameworks, and financial analysis that underpin real estate markets and development. Students gain exposure to industry practices relevant to residential, commercial, and mixed-use real estate.

Under the legacy requirements (prior to 2022), all Real Estate minors must complete the following:
- FNCE 118 - Prerequisites: Sophomore Standing or Above or ACTG 11 (business majors) / ACTG 11A (non-business majors)
- Four courses from:
- FNCE 127 (Prerequisites FNCE 118)
- FNCE 128 (Prerequisites FNCE 121 or 121S)
- FNCE 129 (Prerequisites FNCE 118)
- FNCE 143 (Prerequisites FNCE 121 or 121S)
- ECON 156 (Prerequisites ECON 3, OMIS 41 or ECON 41 & ECON 42)
- ENVS 128
Non-business students minoring in Real Estate must also complete the following requirements:
- FNCE 121 (Prerequisites ACTG 11A & OMIS 40 or Math 8)
- ACTG 11A (non-business majors)
- BUSN 70 or BUSN 170
*Note for finance majors: FNCE 118, 127 and 129 will not meet upper-division elective requirements for the finance major.

Graduate
The Department of Finance supports all graduate programs at the Leavey School of Business through foundational and advanced coursework in financial analysis, markets, and decision-making. The department also offers the MS in Finance & Analytics, providing specialized preparation for data-driven finance careers, and an MBA Concentration in Finance.
