Accounting and A&IS majors submitted applications for the scholarships in March and April. Over $120,000 in scholarships and awards, funded by generous contributions and grants from accounting organizations, alumni, faculty, public accounting firms, and Silicon Valley companies, were presented to the students.  The evening commenced with a cocktail hour, followed by a plated dinner, and an engaging awards program moderated by Dr. Siqi Li, Dr. Michael Calegari and Dr. Matthew Cedergren.   Michael and Matthew shared interesting, fun facts about each of the student scholarship recipients, and Siqi introduced our remarkable student awardees.  We are fortunate to have a great group of talented students with diverse interests.

Four students received awards for their academic achievements.

  • Seniors Fiona Holdaway ’26 (Accounting) and Ingrid Sanchez Claudio ‘26 (A&IS) received the O. Robert Anderson Accounting Award, which is awarded annually to the graduating senior accounting and A&IS majors judged outstanding in scholarship, leadership, and service by the faculty of the department.

  • Alyssa Eimer ‘27 received the Thomas B. Maier Memorial Award for outstanding achievement as the junior accounting student with the highest GPA.
AB2026 JMaglione Scholarship

This year, we were especially grateful to recognize the new P. Joseph Maglione Endowed Scholarship, which honors the perseverance and determination of P. Joseph (Joe) Maglione, the first member of his family to attend college. As the oldest of six brothers, Joe left high school during the Great Depression to help support his family in the Bronx. He was later drafted into the U.S. Army and served in Europe during World War II. After earning his high school diploma while recovering from tuberculosis, he pursued a Jesuit education at Fordham University, where he graduated as the university’s top business student.Established by his children—including his son Joseph Maglione, an ÃÛÌÒµ¼º½ alumnus, former Big Four accounting firm partner, and current adjunct professor at ÃÛÌÒµ¼º½—the scholarship provides financial assistance to accounting majors who are the first in their families to attend college. The scholarship reflects Joe’s belief in the transformative power of education and creates opportunities for future generations of students to pursue their academic and professional aspirations.
